Wenzhou-Siem Reap Air Route Opened

At 12:42 on Jan.18, the Cambodian Angkor Air’s Flight No. K6963with 184 passengers on boardtook off from Wenzhou Longwan International Airport (Longwan Airport) to fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia — the site of Angkor Watone of the“Seven Wonders in the World”. The Wenzhou-Siem Reap route is the seventh international air line the Longwan Airport has opened.

The first flight No. K6962 from Siem Reap, with more than 40 passengers on board, arrived in Wenzhou at 11: 15 on the same day. A brief welcome ceremony was held at the apron of Longwan Airport. At the ceremony, the airport staff presented flowers to the inaugural flight crew members.

Cambodian Angkor Air willoperate the route with Airbus A321. The flight will be available three times every two weeks. The Flight Schedulelocal timefor the route: Departure at 12:25 and arrival at 15:10 for Wenzhou-Siem Reap Flight No. K6963; departure at 7:05 and arrival at 11: 20 for Siem Reap-Wenzhou Flight No. K6962. Siem Reap, within the UTC/GMT+9 time zone, has one hour time difference from Wenzhou.

According to a source, in the upcoming Spring Festival, the opening of the air route to Siem Reap will provide more options of outbound tourism for Wenzhou people. Since being launched, this air route-related tourism products have been warmly welcomed. According to the airport office of Wenzhou International Tour Travel Co., Ltd. (WZITT) , at present only a few tickets are available for the flight dated February 6the four flights before February 6 have been fully booked. Travel agencies including WZITT have launched 5-day and 6-day package tour products. The 6-day package tour with local four-star hotel accommodation is priced at 5980 yuan per person and the price for a 6-day package tour with local five-star hotel accommodation is 6580 yuan per person. In addition, tourism-related services, such as air tickets booking, hotel accommodation and airport-hotel transfers are also available.

According to the statistics of the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism, 3.5 million foreign tourists visited Cambodia in 2012, marking a 25% increase year on year. China is the second largest source of foreign tourists to Cambodia. Located in the north-west Cambodia, Angkor Wat, also known as Angkor Wat Temple, is the best preserved temple at the Angkor heritage site and world-famous for its magnificent architecture and exquisite relief.
