Scholarships 

 

 

 1. Chinese Government Scholarship

 

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in politics, economy, culture, education, and trade between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and research in Chinese universities. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs. Academic programs of Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Law, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy and Arts in 252 designated Chinese universities are available to scholarship winners. Wenzhou University is one of them.

2.      Confucius Institute Scholarship

Scholarship winners are exempt from registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, and are provided with a one-off resettlement subsidy, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are provided at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):

a. CNY 1,400 for One-Academic-Year Students and One-Semester Students.

b. CNY 1,700 for Master’s Degree Students.

The one-off resettlement subsidy is CNY 1,500 for students who will study in China for one academic year or more; CNY 1,000 will be provided for all students who studies in China for one semester; the one-off resettlement subsidy will not be provided for those who have studied in China for more than half a year before being enrolled.

3.      Zhejiang Province Government Scholarship

Class B: 20,000 yuan/year. Winners are outstanding international students studying in undergraduate programs in Zhejiang province and the scholarship covers registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees, major disease and accident insurance, etc.

Class C: 6000 yuan/year. Winners are international students with outstanding moral quality and academic performance studying in long-term non-degree programs in Zhejiang province.

 

 

 

4.      Wenzhou University Scholarship for International Students

Wenzhou University Scholarship for International Students includes: Wenzhou University Enrollment Scholarship for International Students (hereinafter referred to as Scholarship A), Wenzhou University Enrollment Scholarship for Chinese Major International Students (hereinafter referred to as Scholarship B), Wenzhou University Scholarship for Outstanding WZU Students (hereinafter referred to as Scholarship C).

 

 

Applicants for Scholarship A should be international students who apply to study in Wenzhou University for bachelor’s degree or master’s degree. Classes and coverage are:

(1) First Prize of Scholarship A: 70% of one year tuition.

(2) Second Prize of Scholarship A: 40% of one year tuition.

(3) Third Prize of Scholarship A: 20% of one year tuition.

 

Applicants for Scholarship B should be international students who apply to study in Wenzhou University majoring in Chinese. Classes and coverage are:

(1) First Prize of Scholarship B: RMB 2,000/semester.

(2) Second Prize of Scholarship B: RMB 1,500/semester.

(3) Third Prize of Scholarship B: RMB 1,000/semester.

 

Applicants for Scholarship C should be international students who has been studying in Wenzhou University for more than one year. Classes and coverage are:

(1) First Prize of Scholarship C: 60% of one year tuition

(2) Second Prize of Scholarship C: 30% of one year tuition

(3) Third Prize of Scholarship C: 20% of one year tuition

 

70% of the International Degree Students, and 50% of the International Chinese Major Students will be able to win the scholarship, and the proportion of the first prize, the second prize and third prize is 1:2:5.

Students who win the Confucius Institute Scholarship or the Zhejiang Province Government Scholarship are not eligible to apply for Wenzhou University Scholarship for International Students on the same semester/year.
