Entry Requirements 

 

 

 

1.      Undergraduate Programs

Requirements:

1)        Over the age of 18, physically and mentally healthy, and with a valid foreign passport.

2)        High school graduate or equivalent qualifications;

3)        With HSK level 4 for Arts applicants or level 3 for Science applicants; preparatory Chinese language training programs are available in WZU’s College of International Cooperation for students whose Chinese language level falls short of the above criteria. HSK is not required for programs taught in English.

 

Application time: March1-July 15 each year for Fall semester entry

 

Duration: 4years (beginning in September each year)  

 

 

Application documents:

1)        The application form can be downloaded from the website http://wsc.wzu.edu.cn/en/ , please fill in the form according to the corresponding requirements and attach your photo to it. 

2)        The photocopy of your high school diploma and transcript.

3)        The certificate of HSK.

4)        8 photos in the size of 2 inches.

5)        The photocopy of your valid passport.

Note: If documentation is in a language other than English, an official certified English or Chinese translation must be included.

 

 

2.      Postgraduate Programs

Requirements:

1)        Bachelor degree holders.

2)        With HSK level 4 for Arts applicants or level 3 for Science applicants; preparatory Chinese language training programs are available in WZU’s College of International Cooperation for students whose Chinese language level falls short of the above criteria. HSK is not required for programs taught in English.

 

 

Application time: March1-July 15 each year for Fall semester entry

 

Duration: 3 years (beginning in September each year)

 

Application documents:

1)      The application form can be downloaded from the website http://wsc.wzu.edu.cn/en/ , please fill in the form according to the corresponding requirements and attach your photo to it. 

2)      Photocopy of Bachelor degree certificate and transcripts.

3)      English proficiency evidence such as IELTS or TOFEL test report (For non-native English speakers applying for an English taught program).

4)      The certificate of HSK.

5)      2 recommendation letters.

6)      Personal Statement.

7)      8 photos in the size of 2 inches.

8)      The photocopy of your valid passport.

Note: If documentation is in a language other than English, an official certified English or Chinese translation must be included.

 

 

3.      Non-degree Programs

3.1 Chinese Language Training / Preparatory Courses

Requirements: Over the age of 18, physically and mentally healthy, and with a valid foreign passport

Application time: All year around

Duration: 1/2 to 2 years (Beginning in March or September each year)

Courses: Basic Chinese, Chinese Reading, Chinese Listening, Chinese Speaking; optional courses include HSK preparation, Chinese Culture, Chinese Economy, Martial Arts, Painting and Calligraphy, etc.

Application documents:

1)        The application form can be downloaded from the website http://wsc.wzu.edu.cn/en/ , please fill in the form according to the corresponding requirements and attach your photo to it. 

2)        4 photos in the size of 2 inches.

3)        The photocopy of your valid passport. 

 

 

3.2 Short-term Programs

Requirements: Nomination by overseas partnership universities

Application time: March–May for Fall semester; September–November for Spring semester next year

Duration: 0.5 to 2 academic years

Application documents:

1)        The application form can be downloaded from the website http://wsc.wzu.edu.cn/en/ , please fill in the form according to the corresponding requirements and attach your photo to it. 

2)        4 photos in the size of 2 inches.

3)        The photocopy of your valid passport.

4)        Certificate of Enrollment

5)        CV  

 

 

4.      Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK)

 

The new HSK test was launched by Hanban in an effort to better serve Chinese language learners. The test is the result of coordinated efforts by the experts from different disciplines including Chinese language teaching, linguistics, psychology and educational measurement. The new exam combines the advantages of the original HSK while taking into consideration the recent trends in Chinese language training by conducting surveys and making use of the latest findings in international language testing.
